Created voluntarily by public school students during the COVID‑19 pandemic, free and without ads.
What is e-aimodotes
The e-aimodotes service displays current blood donation needs and scheduled blood drives from hospital blood bank departments across Greece.
Its core innovation is the ability to send immediate notifications about urgent blood needs, so donations happen exactly when the system needs them most.
Why it matters
Blood has a limited shelf life and stocks are often not renewed in time. At the same time, accidents, chronic conditions and emergency cases constantly increase demand.
e-aimodotes helps bridge this gap by connecting donors and hospitals at the right moment.
How it was built
e-aimodotes was created voluntarily by students of a public school in Komotini in the middle of the COVID‑19 pandemic, and is offered completely free of charge, without any advertising.
It is delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS) both to citizens and to blood donation services.

What is the goal of e-aimodotes?
The goal is to help people get informed immediately about current blood needs and to contact the appropriate blood donation department at the right time.
How did e-aimodotes start?
After an information session at school by a blood donors’ association and the local hospital blood bank, we realised how big the gap is between needs and actual donations. That’s when we decided to build e-aimodotes.
How can my hospital join e-aimodotes?
Hospitals can be onboarded to the platform so that their blood donation services can publish needs and drives. Contact the team at contact@e-aimodotes.gr to start the process.
